Job summary

Veeco is seeking a Process Development Engineer to support ion beam deposition process development, customer demonstrations, and qualification activities. You will work closely with customers, product management, engineering, and field teams to develop, optimize, and validate thin-film deposition processes that support customer manufacturing requirements and business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5+ years in thin-film deposition or related tech fields; or Master's with 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum systems, thin-film deposition, process development, and materials characterization.
• Experience in a lab/manufacturing environment; travel 10-20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Execute thin-film deposition experiments using Veeco ion beam deposition systems.
• Support process development, optimization, and characterization activities.
• Collect and analyze process data to support evaluations and development work.
• Prepare technical reports, test summaries, and process documentation.
• Assist with customer demonstrations and qualification activities.
• Coordinate with applications, engineering, product management, and field teams for new product introductions and adoption.
