Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years (or Master's with 3+) in thin-film deposition or related field.
• Hands-on experience with vacuum systems, thin-film deposition, and process development.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Execute thin-film deposition experiments using Veeco ion beam deposition systems.
• Support process development, optimization, and characterization activities under technical guidance.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize process data to support customer evaluations and internal development work.
• Prepare technical reports, test summaries, procedures, and process documentation.
• Assist with customer demonstrations, process evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Work with applications, engineering, product management, and field teams to support new product introductions and customer qualification and adoption activities.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues and help identify practical corrective actions.
• Support process transfer, customer training, and occasional onsite technical activities.
• Maintain familiarity with system hardware, diagnostics, and process interactions to support effective lab execution.
• Support day-to-day operation, maintenance coordination, and uptime of sputtering systems at Veeco's R&D location.
