Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Principal Field Application Engineer in San Jose, CA to become a strategic technical and commercial catalyst. You will drive design wins for high-speed analog ICs for optical and copper interconnect, engaging Tier 1 hyperscaler labs as an extension of their design teams.

You will lead co-development initiatives (1.6T/3.2T), influence product roadmaps, and guide customers on hardware design, signal integrity, and system validation, with end-to-end ownership of revenue

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's/PhD preferred.
8+ years of proven FAE experience with strategic customer engagement.

Responsibilities

Drive design wins for high-speed interconnect products with Tier 1 hyperscalers.
Accelerate design-in cycles and remove technical barriers to revenue.
Lead co-development initiatives on 1.6T and 3.2T with customer teams.
Create joint innovation programs with hyperscalers to secure partnerships.
Influence product roadmaps based on customer insights.
