Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Principal Field Application Engineer to drive design-wins for high-speed optical and copper interconnects in AI data-center networks. You will act as a technical strategist and commercial catalyst, securing immediate opportunities while shaping long-term co-development with Tier 1 hyperscalers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of proven FAE experience with strategic customer engagement.
• Expertise in high-speed signaling for 800G/1.6T/3.2T applications.
• Knowledge of optical transceiver architectures and manufacturing.
• Familiarity with LPO, LRO, and CPO architectures.
• Experience with high-speed PCB design and impedance control.
• Proven ability to drive design-wins and co-development with hyperscalers.

Responsibilities

• Drive design wins for Semtech’s high-speed drivers, TIAs, copper redrivers, and related products with data center customers.
• Accelerate design-in cycles by removing technical barriers to secure revenue opportunities.
• Lead co-development initiatives for 1.6T and 3.2T technologies with customer teams.
• Create joint programs and PoCs with Tier 1 hyperscalers to establish Semtech as a strategic partner.
• Align product roadmaps with customer evolution plans to ensure timely market delivery.
