Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions, a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Field Sales Engineer- Optics in Santa Clara, CA. You will drive design wins and manage key OEM/distributor relationships while promoting optical interconnects for datacom, AI/ML, cloud, and HPC markets.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing teams to differentiate offerings, grow strategic accounts, and exceed revenue targets through AI, cloud, and data center applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Enginering, or related discipline
• 3+ years of field sales, applications engineering, product marketing, or business development experience
• Experience in optics, photonics, networking, fiber optics, semiconductor, or related industries preferred
• Understanding of high-speed networking, datacenter architectures, AI infrastructure, or telecom systems
• Global account management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide sales leadership and coordinate with Field Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Optical Engineering teams.
• Promote and sell optical interconnect solutions including fiber optic assemblies, transceivers, active optical cables, and optical engines.
• Identify optical connectivity opportunities and secure design wins with customer engineering teams.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies and account plans.
• Meet and exceed revenue objectives through new product adoption and strategic account management.
• Drive customer engagement around AI, HPC, cloud, and networking optical technologies.
• Provide technical sales support during qualification, design reviews, and implementation activities.
• Assist customers with optical architecture evaluations and copper-to-optics migration strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for optical networking and datacenter connectivity solutions.
• Track forecasts, bookings, revenue, and business opportunities.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and support issue resolution.
• Stay informed on silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, and optical networking trends.
• Travel as required.
