Job summary

Transfyr Bio in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Member of the Technical Staff - Field Applications Engineer to bridge our physical AI technology with real‑world lab environments. You will lead hardware procurement, field deployments, and customer success, working closely with scientists to ensure sensors and edge compute deliver actionable data and reliable operation.

Qualifications

Deployment & support experience with physical hardware and field installations.
Customer engineering experience to identify pain points and implement solutions.
Strong understanding of sensor integration, networking, and edge compute basics.
Experience with data transfer, storage, and infrastructure concepts at the edge.
Familiarity with scientific workflows and processes; curiosity about science and AI.

Responsibilities

Lead the end‑to‑end hardware procurement, assembly, and deployment at customer sites.
Design and execute robust tests to ensure reliable operation in lab conditions.
Own on‑site installation, configuration, and data flow to customers.
Work with scientists to tailor sensor placements and edge solutions for experiments.
Translate field observations into requirements for hardware and software teams.
Provide proactive customer success by surfacing insights from platform data.
