Job summary

Transfyr is building physical AI for science and is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to deploy our platform in real laboratories and customer sites. You will work closely with scientists to ensure hardware and networking deliverables meet real-world needs and to translate feedback into product improvements.

You will manage end-to-end field deployments, handle site-specific challenges, and contribute to the ongoing development of edge infrastructure for scientific workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying physical hardware and networking installations.
• Ability to work with customers to identify pain points and implement technical solutions.
• Familiarity with sensors (vision, IoT) and edge maintenance.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and data transfers, backend systems.
• Interest in science and AI; startup experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware procurement and assembly for deployments.
• Design and run robustness tests on hardware configurations.
• Own end-to-end field deployment at customer sites.
• Collaborate with scientists to tailor sensor placements for experiments.
• Translate field feedback into requirements for hardware/software teams.
• Support customers post-deployment and surface quick-win insights.
