Job summary

A leading utility and telecommunications provider in Brownsville, TX is seeking an AMI Network Administrator to oversee a large AMI network. Responsibilities include monitoring devices, troubleshooting failures, and performing firmware updates. Ideal candidates will have backgrounds in AMI, RF communications, and field networking. Qualifications

• Background in AMI, RF, telecom, field networking, IoT, or utility operations.
• Ability to work in the field and outdoors as needed.
• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of relocation).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain AMI network devices (routers, gateways, endpoints).
• Troubleshoot communication failures, RF issues, and device outages.
• Perform meter firmware deployments and validate successful upgrades.
• Conduct field inspections and RF testing as needed.
• Support system reliability goals.
• Partner with technical teams and vendors on upgrades and issue resolution.
