Border States Industries, Inc. is seeking a field meter technician to join our team in a hands‑on role supporting metering operations. You will troubleshoot meters, verify wiring, and replace meters in field environments, with emphasis on safety and accurate data collection.

The role involves outdoor work, travel between sites, and close coordination with utility personnel and lead technicians to ensure reliable metering services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with basic hand tools is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel helpful.

Responsibilities

• Observes conditions at the service site; report hazards to lead technician.
• Deploys AMR/AMI equipment where applicable.
• Works with single phase and low voltage systems.
• Removes and replaces existing electric meters.
• Takes and records voltages; takes required photos.
• Completes reports and forwards to lead technician.
