Job summary

Realm Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical liaison for customers in the field. You will own integrations, onsite deployment work, and translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions.

You’ll prototype tools, troubleshoot in demanding environments, and ensure reliable performance in mission-critical settings. You will shadow operators, decompose complex problems, and translate insights into clear technical requirements for the engineering

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering or forward deployed / mission operations experience
• Strong technical fluency; able to read, write, and debug code to build prototypes
• Low ego with high EQ; collaborative and capable of working with external partners
• Experience with enterprise, industrial, government, or security-critical products
• Strong coding skills and CS fundamentals
• Mastery of development/infrastructure/DevOps tools (Git, Linux)
• Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and drive projects
• Thrives in ambiguous environments with strong prioritization and structured thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication; can simplify complexity for diverse stakeholders
• Hands-on prototyping and AI-assisted coding to test ideas
• Willingness to move fast and handle details in real-world settings
• Based in US - citizen or permanent resident

Responsibilities

• Spend ~25% of your time onsite with customers across the US
• Build a ground-truth understanding of customer operations by shadowing operators and frontline teams
• Rapidly prototype tools and integrations in the field to validate ideas and feasibility
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex operational or systems issues
• Translate field insights into technical requirements and integration specs for engineering
• Lead all technical integration work including APIs, data pipelines, hardware/software interfaces, and secure deployments
• Collaborate with engineering to align features with real-world needs
• Represent customer realities internally to ensure feasibility and reliability
• Decompose ambiguous problems into well-scoped technical workstreams
• Ensure customer success in mission-critical contexts by enabling data flow and connectivity
• Inform product teams with field observations and frontline feedback
• Support pre-sales by onsite demonstrations to prove product value
• Contribute to the foundation and culture scaling Realm’s forward deployed engineering function
