Job summary

Avoca is building the AI front office for a $1T+ industry, growing fast with an in-office NYC team. As a Forward Deployed Product Engineer, you will embed with major home-service brands, learn their operations, and design AI systems that run their front lines from day one.

You will own end-to-end builds, deploy production integrations, and shape the product roadmap with on-site collaboration. This role requires strong coding skills, clear communication, and comfort working in person in NYC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong full-stack or backend fundamentals.
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous settings with prior deployments in dynamic environments.
• Eagerness to work in person with us in NYC full time, with travel to customer sites for key deployments.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customers to deeply understand how their business runs, then design and deploy AI voice agents that work from day one.
• Own the technical build end-to-end—from initial customer conversation to live deployment handling real call volume.
• Build production integrations into customer CRM/FSM systems (APIs, webhooks, data flows) and ensure healthy monitoring.
• Translate messy, real-world business requirements into clean technical architecture and shipped code.
• Spot patterns across deployments and turn them into reusable tooling and product improvements.
