Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo and similar) on diverse site projects. You will capture, process, and deliver meshes, point clouds, and scan-to-CAD outputs for clients.

You must have hands-on scanner experience, CAD reading ability, and a valid driver’s license, with readiness to travel to regional hubs and sites. This is an on-site, hourly role with potential for growth into lead technician.

Qualifications

Experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects.
Knowledge of Artec Studio for mesh processing and export.
Ability to read structural or fabrication drawings.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to regional hubs.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute handheld 3D scans for concrete, structures, and machine parts.
Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlaps.
Verify data captures on site before leaving.
Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export formats.
Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings.
Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering.
Document capture procedures and safety protocols; maintain equipment and permits.
Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
