Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo/Eva/Space Spider or equivalent) on diverse projects. You will capture data on site, verify completeness, and process scans into deliverables for CAD integration.

The role requires on-site work, ability to travel, and proficiency with Artec Studio and CAD drawings. Training and potential career growth are available as the service line expands.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects; bring examples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, export.
• Familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion, Inventor, or Revit) and reading structural drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; willing to travel with equipment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of various structures and components.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export to STL/OBJ/E57, CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks; hand-clean meshes for modeling team.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts; travel to regional hubs as assigned.
