Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners (Artec Leo, Eva, or Space Spider) on concrete, steel, and plant sites. You will process data in Artec Studio and deliver meshes, point clouds, and CAD-ready files for client use.

You must be comfortable on active construction sites, able to carry equipment, and willing to travel to regional hubs. Training and certifications related to concrete and metrology are supported by the company.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners on real projects.
• Knowledge of Artec Studio and scan-processing software.
• Ability to read structural or fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Willingness to travel and fly with equipment as needed.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus.
• Certifications such as ACI, NICET or ICC are a plus.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, and for various structures and machine parts.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering; hand-clean meshes as needed.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
• We travel as needed; projects may be staffed via regional hubs with travel and per-diem arrangements.
