Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Technician II - Fiber in Alabama to perform end-to-end fiber work including installation, termination, testing, and splicing. The role covers building work areas, mounting gear, and ensuring correct labeling and documentation.

Responsibilities include testing with OTDR/Fluke tools, terminating various connector types, and completing required paperwork on time. Minimum HS diploma; 5-7 years preferred; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with fiber termination and splicing.
• Able to perform testing and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel within territory.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber systems.
• Build closets, mount racks, patch panels, and install connectors.
• Test continuity and diagnose faults end to end using OTDR.
• Terminate indoor and outdoor fiber, and complete all paperwork accurately.
