The Technician I - Fiber is responsible for all aspects of fiber work including installing, terminating, testing, and splicing, within the IES field operations. Primary duties cover cabling, testing with OTDR, and ensuring quality work in line with industry standards.

The role requires basic copper termination skills, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel within territory, and strong problem solving. Minimum education is High School diploma or GED, with 2–4 years experience; IES offers full

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to meet driving standards.
• Experience with fiber testing and splicing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber systems.
• Test using OTDR and troubleshoot network issues end-to-end.
• Terminate connectors and build out enclosures per standards.
• Complete required IES paperwork accurately and on time.
