Job summary

IES Communications in Phoenix, AZ is looking for a Technician II - Fiber to install, terminate, test and splice fiber networks across diverse environments.

Responsibilities include building closets and mounting racks, terminating fiber connectors (LC/SC/ST/FC), performing OTDR tests, and ensuring accurate documentation while adhering to safety standards. Travel within territory may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5-7 years fiber experience preferred; 0-2 years for entry level.
• Proficiency with terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF.

Responsibilities

• Install cabling and terminate copper and fiber connections; test and troubleshoot.
• Build closets, mount backboards, cross‑connects, racks, patch panels, and grounding.
• Terminate jumper cords and splice fiber; perform end‑to‑end loss budgets per standards.
• Complete paperwork accurately: timesheets, work orders, change orders, job blog.
