Job summary
Metronet in Rochester, MN seeks a Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot fiber services from the terminal to customer premises. You will educate customers about Metronet products and services and may earn commissions for your explanations.
The role requires professionalism with customers and colleagues and meeting key performance metrics. Ideal candidates include those with telecom or fiber experience or a strong willingness to learn; physical stamina and safety awareness are essential for
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with a telecom / fiber company preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and in adverse weather.
- Able to lift and carry loads up to 75lbs including a ladder.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to CPE.
- Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
- Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
- Maintain professional conduct with customers and colleagues.
- Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
