Job summary

Forged Fiber in Caldwell, ID is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable on construction projects and for emergency restoration across our networks in Caldwell, Idaho.

You will work with OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and read construction prints, coordinating with crews to keep projects on schedule while adhering to OSHA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom field experience preferred.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects and emergency restoration.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR, power meter, scope; document tests.
• Prepare splice cases/enclosures including aerial and underground installations.
• Read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, maps, permits, and work orders.
• Coordinate with construction crews and engineers to meet project schedules.
