Kanaan Communications, LLC in Gaylord, MI is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunications networks, ensuring reliable data transmission across a growing footprint. Perform aerial and underground splicing, test and troubleshoot circuits post-install, and document work in daily reports; mentor other splicers.

Must have a HS diploma/GED, two years' splicing experience, a valid driver's license, and a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• Two years of fiber splicing experience required; a DOT medical card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform aerial and underground cable upgrades and splicing tasks.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuits post-installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths; mid-sheath fibers as needed.
• Document work in daily production reports and update maps and material usage records.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
