Job summary

Texstar Enterprises LLC is hiring a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecom network. The role involves performing aerial and underground splicing, testing circuits, and documenting work in daily reports.

You’ll operate at various heights, complete vehicle maintenance, and ensure standards compliance. A valid US work authorization, DOT medical card, and splicing or telecom experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional) with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in the telecommunications industry.
• Certified pole climber or ability to demonstrate proficiency preferred.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
