Job summary

Texstar Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunication networks. You will ensure reliable data transmission by performing aerial and underground splicing, testing, activation, and troubleshooting after installations.

You will work with a team, follow industry standards, and participate in daily reporting and basic vehicle maintenance. A high school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license are required, with DOT medical clearance

Qualifications

Two or more years of fiber splicing experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
DOT medical card required (pass DOT physical).
Certified pole climber preferred.
Knowledge of telecommunications network structure.

Responsibilities

Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuits post-installation.
Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
Cut away the sheath to reach faulty connections, and prepare cables.
Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
Document work through daily production reports, map updates, and material usage records.
