Job summary

Lumos Fiber is hiring an Operations Service Technician I in High Point, NC. The role involves installing, testing, and maintaining fiber services and equipment at homes and businesses, with a hybrid schedule dispatching to customer sites.

You will configure Wi‑Fi, troubleshoot connectivity, and handle on‑site installations of residential gateways, routers, and other equipment, while collaborating with our SOC for service assurance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Residence within 30 minutes of the normal reporting location.
• Experience interacting with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Experience using MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and maintains basic Voice, Data, and Video services on fiber networks.
• Performs data entry tasks: updating trouble tickets, processing orders, provisioning systems and equipment.
• Configures Wi‑Fi: SSID settings, Guest Network Access, firewall options.
• Troubleshoots wireless connectivity issues and on-premise equipment.
• Installs and troubleshoots circuits (Voice, Broadband).
• Performs other duties and participates in cross‑functional projects.
• Training components for Technician I (Non‑Inclusive) including relevant systems.
