Job summary

Hotwire Communications Ltd. is seeking a Service Technician in Pensacola, FL to perform quality installation practices, upgrades, disconnects, and troubleshooting of IP and RF video, voice, and internet services.

The role includes fiber optic troubleshooting, router/AP configuration, and on-site customer support. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in cable, phone and internet installation, fiber optic cabling expertise, and the ability to work days, weekends, evenings, and holidays

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet
• Fiber optic cabling experience
• Proficiency with small hand tools and larger power tools
• Active, clean state driver's license
• Comfort working on ladders and heights
• HS diploma; associate degree preferred
• Cisco certifications (CCENT/CCT) and Microsoft MCSA certifications
• Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays on-call

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnects, disconnections, and service changes following procedures and safety rules
• Routinely troubleshoot fiber optic networks using 1310, 1490, 1550 nm wavelengths
• Configure routers, access points, bridges, and Wi‑Fi
• Troubleshoot IP and LAN issues and ensure customer Premises Equipment operates
• Install CAT5/CAT6 drop wires and connectors
• Test and tone all drop wires from equipment room to end user location
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Other duties as assigned
