Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation is seeking an Engineering Technician – Fiber Optic to perform environmental and mechanical testing of optical cables, assemblies, and components. You will provide test, inspection, and analytical support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Quality Assurance.

The role requires 1–3 years in electro-optics or fiber optics, an associate degree in engineering or a related field, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Some overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or an associated technical discipline or 1–3 years hands-on electro-optics, fiber optics, instrumentation, or related field.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in electro-optics, fiber optics, instrumentation, and measurements.
• None required; certification in fiber optics handling could be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and mechanical tests on cables and assemblies according to standards and procedures.
• Understand and apply industrial, corporate, and military standards to test efforts.
• Use computers to obtain, organize, and interpret data; produce test reports for other departments.
