Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation Roanoke, VA is seeking a Tester/Lab Technician to perform environmental and mechanical tests on cables and assemblies. You will generate lab reports, troubleshoot setups, and support production through inspections and testing.

The role requires an associate degree in engineering or a related field and 1–3 years of hands-on electro-optics experience. Some overtime and weekend hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related technical discipline and/or 1–3 years hands-on experience in electro-optics, fiber optics, instrumentation, or related field.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in electro-optics, fiber optics, instrumentation, and measurements.
• Computer proficiency in Word and Excel; detail oriented; able to read and perform tests per standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and mechanical tests on cables and assemblies per standards.
• Analyze test data and generate reports for engineering, manufacturing, and QA.
• Troubleshoot test setups and root causes of failures.
• Support production with inspections and testing, including annealing processes.
