Job summary

Molex, a leading provider of optical solutions, is seeking an Optical Test Engineer to advance our test capabilities for fiber optic components and assemblies. This role involves hands-on lab work, fixture design, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop test methods, operate advanced equipment, analyze data, and contribute to product qualification and reliability across varied wavelengths and systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in a technical field related to optics.
• Experience with optical test methods and data analysis.
• Hands-on lab experience with optical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document optical test methods for product characterization and qualification.
• Develop test methods to evaluate optical properties of materials applied to optical fibers.
• Perform laboratory optical alignment using automated stages to build active alignment setups.
• Operate and maintain advanced optical test equipment (power meters, beam profilers, polarization analyzers, interferometers, OTDRs, environmental test systems).
• Design and build test fixtures and automated measurement systems.
• Analyze test data using statistical methods and prepare technical reports.
• Support environmental and reliability testing to validate product performance.
