Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation is seeking an Inspector to test and inspect optical fiber and sub-cables through the production process, ensuring quality and reliability. The role involves setting up and operating OTDR testing equipment, interpreting data, and maintaining documentation to meet exacting standards.

The job requires ability to read procedures, attention to detail, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment. Night shift differential applies with schedule 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; six months related experience preferred.
• Ability to set up, run and monitor test equipment; follow quality procedures.
• Math and handwriting skills; attention to detail; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Select optical fiber and sub-cables to be tested based on production priorities.
• Strip fibers and use OTDR equipment to test length, breaks and attenuation.
• Observe, measure and inspect fibers for wall thickness, diameter, concentricity, print and color per shop order.
• Evaluate data to validate deviations from standards and complete inspection paperwork.
