Job summary

TEKsystems in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a skilled fiber optic technician to join our onsite team. You will splice, test, and document fiber installations across data centers, hyperscale, and outdoor environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will read and update splice schematics, manage cables and enclosures, and coordinate with foremen and project teams to meet production schedules and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on fiber prepping, splicing, and testing in field, data center or hyperscale environments.
• Experience operating OTDR, OLTS, and visual fault locator equipment is required.
• Able to read and interpret splice records, cable schematics, and engineering documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing on various fiber types and cable counts as required by the project.
• Prepare and route fiber cables within splice enclosures and data center infrastructure.
• Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 fiber testing using OLTS and OTDR equipment.
