Job summary
Hotwire Communications Ltd is seeking a Construction Technician to ensure quality installation of fiber services for commercial and residential sites, including IDFs, MDFs and in-building drops. You will install video, voice, and internet connections, pull cables, and test systems to verify full functionality.
The role requires hands-on installation, use of RF test equipment, and safe, compliant work practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred.
- At least 3 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet.
- Proven Fiber Optic Cabling experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist installation and activation of fiber-optic telecom in subscriber homes (homes, condos, apartments).
- Install and service full video services, including analog, digital, and HD TV.
- Install, service, and disconnect telephone and internet customers; punch down lines.
- Troubleshoot video, telephone and internet problems from demarc to customer premise equipment.
- Use RF test equipment to verify full functionality of installed components.
