Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Assembly Operator IV or V to support fiber optic manufacturing operations, including assembly, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables and connectors in a cleanroom environment.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, hands-on work with small components, and a strong focus on quality and safety. You will participate in prototype builds, test builds, and production requirements while complying with PPE and containment procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Fiber optic manufacturing experience required.
• Strong hand‑eye coordination and ability to work with small, delicate components.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment with required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, polish, and test fiber optic cables and connector components.
• Perform termination of single and multi‑fiber cable assemblies.
• Support prototype builds, test builds, and NPI activities as needed.
• Operate equipment including fiber routers and over‑molding machinery.
• Measure components using calipers, gauges, and other tools.
• Complete required documentation to ensure product traceability.
• Inspect work using quality standards, work instructions, and technical drawings.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs.
• Follow proper cleaning and contamination control procedures for optical assembly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and suggest process improvements.
