Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to expand our 100% Fiber Optic network in Beaumont, TX. You’ll oversee contractor performance and drive fiber construction projects from readiness through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in OSP construction, telecom engineering, or related field operations.
• Knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction; OSHA and NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and multiple active projects.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to travel within the market.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set expectations for contractors and subcontractors; ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress; report to stakeholders.
• Inspect active jobsites; ensure work meets OSHA, NESC, Lumos standards.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies.
• Resolve field roadblocks and community concerns professionally.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve planning and execution.
