Job summary

Lumos Fiber is hiring an OSP Construction Project Engineer to expand the fiber network and oversee contractor performance across multiple builds in the Waco market. You will ensure field safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence from readiness through closeout.

Role requires onsite work in the Waco, TX area with travel to active jobsites; strong PM, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecom engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
• Strong knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction incl. OSHA and NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and several active projects simultaneously.
• PM, communication and relationship-building skills with proficiency in MS Office.
• Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel within the market.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set clear expectations for contractors and subcontractors; hold teams to safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress; update stakeholders clearly.
• Inspect active jobsites to ensure OSHA, NESC, and Lumos standards are met.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and field dependencies.
• Resolve field roadblocks quickly and professionally with sound judgment.
• Partner across Engineering, Operations, Permitting, and Supply Chain to improve build planning.
