Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Operations & Asset Management Technician to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of telecommunications network infrastructure, including asset management and logistics coordination.

You will handle preventive maintenance of critical systems, repair tracking, testing of services from DS0 through OC192, and ensure network reliability across Ethernet, IP, SONET, and next‑gen technologies while documenting actions and collaborating

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of telecommunications and network infrastructure including Fiber, Ethernet, SONET, and IP.
• Familiarity with AC/DC power systems and critical infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and network troubleshooting processes.
• Strong organizational and asset management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to learn internal systems (ticketing, provisioning, inventory management).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network equipment, isolate faults, and restore services quickly to minimize downtime.
• Remove and replace defective modules and components with proper repair tracking.
• Assist in installation, provisioning, testing, and maintenance of services from DS0 through OC192.
• Support deployment and testing of network technologies including Fiber Optic, Ethernet/IP, SONET, and edge compute.
• Install and test transmission, switching, and customer premise equipment (CPE).
• Proactively identify risks to maintain network integrity.
• Manage inventory of tools, test sets, spare parts, and network equipment.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, and tracking of materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and timely replenishment.
• Record activities in trouble ticketing systems and provide status updates to management.
• Locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in training to develop technical knowledge.
• Evaluate performance using provided tools and reports, identifying areas for improvement.
• Support installation, modification, and decommissioning of network infrastructure.
