Job summary

Bystronic is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our hybrid manufacturing and field-support team. You will assemble fiber laser cutting machines from drawings, test them, and document results in SAP, with domestic and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment; machine-building, installation, or machine-service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools, including wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, drills, and pneumatic tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Assemble fiber laser cutting machines and subassemblies from drawings and instructions.
• Receive, unload, verify, and stage materials for assembly.
• Prepare tools, fixtures, and documentation for each assembly run.
• Perform in-process and final testing, laser commissioning, ball-bar testing, and document results.
• Record material usage and steps in SAP and other applicable systems.
• Maintain all required machine assembly documentation in electronic or hard-copy form.
• Follow safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.
• Travel to customer sites for installations and service as needed.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, field service, installation teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
