Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Technician Fiber Installation to set up and maintain fiber optic networks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uninterrupted service.

You will install, configure equipment, work in various weather, and be prepared for overtime, travel, and on-call duties. Requirements include 18+, U.S. work authorization, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work in all weather and lift up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change and troubleshoot fiber optic internet and telephone services.
• Install, setup and configure all customer equipment.
• Identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues.
• Review requested services with customers to confirm understanding and agreement.
• Educate customers on product and service usage.
• Maintain and stock vehicle and equipment; perform overtime, travel and on-call duties as needed.
• Work in all weather conditions and fulfill other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet, and telephone based on guidelines
• Install, setup and configure all equipment
• Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues
• Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement
• Educate the customer regarding product and service usage
• Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights, occasional entry into attics and crawl spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
