Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Technician Fiber Installation to set up and maintain fiber optic networks, ensuring reliable service for customers in Ohio. You will install and configure equipment, troubleshoot issues, and educate customers on product usage in a fast-paced field setting.

This role requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to work overtime, travel, and on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record; able to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet and telephone services per guidelines.
• Install, setup and configure equipment.
• Identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues.
• Review services with customers to ensure understanding and agreement.
• Educate customers on product and service usage.
• Maintain and stock vehicle and equipment; perform overtime and on-call when needed.
• Work in all weather conditions; perform duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet, and telephone based on guidelines
• Install, setup and configure all equipment
• Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues
• Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement
• Educate the customer regarding product and service usage
• Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights, occasional entry into attics and crawl spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
