Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Field Service Technician – Fiber to install and service fiber optic and network equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities include fiber splicing, testing, and ensuring service quality across telecom and data networks.

The role requires experience in field installation, knowledge of CWDM/DWDM, and the ability to work independently with strong communication skills. Overnight and travel may be required; valid license needed.

Qualifications

Experience in field installation, maintenance and repair required.
1+ year in CATV/telecommunications desirable.
Fiber optic and coaxial experience desirable.
Ability to work at heights over 30 ft.
Ability to use fiber test equipment (OTDR, Spectrum Analyzer, Light Identifier, Power Source).
Candidate must lift up to 75 lbs.
Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

Install and service Alpha products, primarily fiber optic and network equipment at customer sites.
Perform fiber splicing and network maintenance tasks as required.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair service issues to restore connectivity.
Coordinate with Technical Service team to ensure service commitments are met.
Prepare reports on repairs, materials used and time spent.
Work on the network during maintenance windows and travel as needed.
