Job summary

DFN seeks an experienced fiber splicer to splice SM/MM fibers in aerial and underground environments and to support field buildouts. The role requires lifting up to 100 pounds, on-call availability, and the ability to read engineering docs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience as a fiber splicer or broadband technician.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 100 pounds and performing on-call duties.
• Able to read engineering/construction documentation and use related tools.

Responsibilities

• Fuse or mechanically splice SM or MM fibers in various environments including aerial and underground.
• Terminate fiber using multiple connection methods.
• Test splices using OTDRs and other equipment and report results promptly.
• Collaborate with Engineering and OSP Leadership on splicing tasks.
• Be on-call for emergencies, outages, and scheduled maintenance; direct field personnel as needed.
