Job summary

Broadstaff is seeking an experienced OSP Field Inspector / OSP Construction Coordinator to support a large-scale fiber construction initiative. The role involves field inspections, documenting progress, and supporting construction operations across Northeast Alabama and nearby markets.

You will monitor contractor production, capture field data, and update as-built drawings, while traveling to active sites with a valid driver’s license. Local candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in OSP telecom construction, utility construction, or fiber deployment.
• Understanding of underground and aerial fiber construction practices.
• Ability to read construction drawings, maps, permits, and redlines.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience tracking construction progress and production reporting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable using mobile devices, tablets, cameras, and reporting software.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of underground and aerial fiber construction projects.
• Monitor contractor production and provide daily status reports.
• Capture photos, measurements, and field documentation.
• Update redlines and support as-built documentation efforts.
• Verify construction methods and document field changes.
• Communicate real-time field updates to internal OSP teams.
• Identify, document, and escalated project issues when necessary.
• Travel throughout the assigned Northeast Alabama territory to active construction sites.
