Job summary

Broadstaff seeks an experienced OSP Field Inspector / OSP Construction Coordinator to support a large fiber program across Southeast Alabama. You will inspect underground and aerial fiber builds, capture field data, and keep as-built records up to date.

Travel to active sites daily, coordinate with crews, monitor progress, and provide real-time updates to the OSP team. The role emphasizes inspection, documentation, reporting, and field support rather than management.

Qualifications

• OSP telecom construction, utility construction, or fiber deployment experience.
• Knowledge of underground and aerial fiber construction practices.
• Ability to read construction drawings, maps, permits, and redlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience documenting field activity and production progress.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable using mobile devices, tablets, cameras, and reporting tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to travel daily throughout the assigned market.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of underground and aerial fiber construction projects.
• Monitor contractor production and provide daily status reporting.
• Capture photos, measurements, and field documentation.
• Update redlines and support as-built documentation efforts.
• Verify construction methods and document field changes.
• Provide real-time updates and communication to internal OSP teams.
• Identify potential issues and elevate concerns as needed.
• Support construction coordinators who are managing projects remotely.
• Travel throughout the assigned Southeast Alabama territory to active job sites.
