Job summary

RPMGlobal in Glendale, WI is seeking a Fiber Design Technician (level I or II) to support and produce fiber route and splice designs for fiber to the home projects. You will draft route designs, prepare complete design packages, and validate data against field conditions, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The role requires 1–4 years in fiber/telecom design, an associate degree or tech cert, and proficiency with CAD/GIS tools.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years in fiber/telecom design or related work.
• Associate degree or tech certification in drafting, telecom or GIS.
• Solid understanding of fiber network design principles.
• Proficiency with CAD/GIS tools for design drafting.
• Strong attention to detail and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Draft fiber route designs and splice diagrams for review.
• Prepare design packages with BOMs and exhibits.
• Validate data against field conditions and GIS records.
• Lead routine quality checks on design docs before release.
• Support revisions based on field feedback and conflicts.
• Coordinate with GIS and Field Data teams to keep records aligned.
• Train Technician I staff on drafting standards.
• Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
