Job summary

Lumen Technologies in Saint Helens, Oregon, is seeking a Network Technician focused on installation and maintenance of fiber and copper networks. You will perform splicing, testing, and repairs across aerial, underground, and indoor plant, including GPON, DSL, bonded DSL, and POTS services.

The role requires hands-on experience with fiber optics, copper systems, and field testing. You may work full time with occasional overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts in a safety‑conscious, customer‑facing

Qualifications

• Experience handling large multi-pair copper telecom cables and splicing.
• Experience splicing fiber optic cables and handling related infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret service orders, blueprints, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber and copper cables for projects and repairs.
• Perform testing with OTDR and related equipment and document results.
• Troubleshoot and repair existing networks to ensure service continuity.
• Configure and enable residential and small business services (POTS, HSI, VDSL, FTTH).
• Coordinate testing with centers and document outcomes.
