Job summary

MaxxSouth Broadband is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our cable systems operating at peak performance. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain subscriber drops, trunk lines, and related equipment while delivering exceptional service.

You will work with meters and testers, interface with customers professionally, and perform daily service tasks with proper documentation. A high school diploma and 2 years of cable tech experience are required, with electronics training preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of cable technical experience required.
• Formal electronics training or certifications (NCTI, SCTE) preferred.
• Experience with Windows operating systems.
• Experience with residential Cable TV, Internet, and Phone services.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair cable television services
• Diagnose and fix feeder cables using meters and test equipment
• Identify and repair fiber and node issues
• Interface with customers professionally to explain services and resolve issues
• Install and service Digital TV, HD, and HSD cable modems
• Detect and repair signal leakage and decimation
• Perform cable splicing and understand RF design/system prints
• Complete daily service and installation tasks, including documentation
• Safely operate equipment such as extension ladders and bucket trucks
