Job summary

Hancock Whitney in Bay St. Louis, MS is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA, and rural development loans while ensuring investor compliance and state/federal regulations.

You will build referral networks, manage a clean loan pipeline, coordinate with processors and underwriters, and deliver accurate disclosures in a timely fashion. Strong knowledge of mortgage products and local market help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years of sales experience required.
• 2+ years of Mortgage origination experience preferred.
• Active NMLS registration required (SAFE Act) after hire and annual renewal.
• Knowledge of mortgage laws, procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert mortgage advice to potential borrowers.
• Develops and maintains referral networks with realtors, builders and community contacts.
• Manages a clean loan pipeline and coordinates with processors, underwriters and closers.
• Delivers all disclosures and closing documents in a timely manner.
• Interviews applicants to document income, debt and credit history and informs of closing costs.
