Job summary

Alter Trading in Madison, WI is seeking a Ferrous Supervisor to lead the Ferrous Department. The role oversees inbound/outbound material flow, maintains inventory levels and quality, and coordinates daily production scheduling to meet customer orders with traceability.

You will supervise Ferrous staff, partner with other department managers, and drive cost efficiencies while upholding safety standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on with equipment, has strong communication across all levels,

Qualifications

• Hands-on with equipment and operations; frequent movement throughout facility
• Prior knowledge of metal identification preferred but not required
• Excellent communication across all levels; travel less than 10%

Responsibilities

• Manage flow of material inbound & outbound, and maintain inventory levels & quality control.
• Schedule and track daily production to meet expectations.
• Record production data into Production Tracker and Monthly Production Logs.
• Ensure Materials shipped meet the exact requirements of the customer’s order and maintain traceability.
• Work with other department managers to complete required tasks, metrics and expectations.
• Supervise Ferrous employees, including hiring and corrective actions
• Drive efficiencies to maintain and lower monthly operating costs.
• Communicate regularly with all levels of employees, vendors & customers.
• Learn and Operate Equipment as needed to assist the team.
• Maintain safety and environmental standards
• Performs other duties as assigned.
