Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager – FERC Pipeline Lead to join our Environmental and Regulatory Team. The role supports routing, siting, construction compliance, and NEPA documentation, with emphasis on FERC 7(b)/7(c) filings and client relationship development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Planning, Cultural Resources, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in ecological or cultural resource surveys, NEPA planning, environmental analysis, and state/federal permitting
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience
• FERC Natural Gas filings knowledge including 7(b) and 7(c) applications
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to travel for client meetings

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for environmental studies, permitting, and NEPA documentation
• Lead teams through FERC environmental processes for assessment and permitting
• Develop client relationships and grow the FERC pipeline program
• Oversee proposals, budgeting, and project financial tracking
• Coordinate schedules, QA/QC, and resolve issues across teams
• Direct field surveys, data interpretation, and technical writing
• Develop permitting strategies and coordinate with regulators
• Manage multiple projects with minimal oversight
• Mentor junior staff and promote QA/QC standards
• Participate in client and internal meetings; travel as needed
