Job summary

Disability North in Harrogate is seeking a friendly, patient Support Worker to join our team. You will assist a sociable young lady with autism to live as independently as possible, including personal care and day-to-day activities.

Experience working with autism is preferred, and good communication is essential to support conversations and shared activities. The role is female-only as per regulatory requirements, and hours include evenings and nights from Mon, Wed, and Sun.

Competitive pay rate: £16.63 per hour

Hours: Mon, Wed, Sun: 3.30pm – 8.30am waking nights

Location: Harrogate

Based in the village of Marton cum Grafton – easily commutable from York, Harrogate and Leeds, close to the A1.

Fun, energetic SUPPORT WORKER wanted to join our friendly team!

You will be supporting an active young lady with autism and learning disabilities to live her best life.

She lives at home where she enjoys outings, walking, cycling, and swimming, especially open water swimming. The railway museum, canals with ducks and Fountains Abbey are her favorite places. She enjoys listening to music, baking, cooking, drawing and spending time with her family.

We’re looking for someone patient, caring, and confident, with experience of supporting people with autism. You must be a good communicator to support someone who is very sociable and likes to share activities and experiences.

You will be supporting and enabling a young lady to live as independently as possible. You will need to give support with personal care, so the job is suitable for female applicants only. You will be guiding her through her day, giving advice and explanation to help her make good choices and decisions.
