I am looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate PA to provide practical support in my home. This is a varied role that would suit someone who is naturally caring, organised and comfortable working independently. Most importantly, I am looking for someone who is respectful, adaptable and able to understand that my support needs can vary from day to day.
My health and energy levels can fluctuate, so the way I need support may look different depending on how I am feeling. Some days I may enjoy having a chat and some company, while on other days I may need to rest quietly and have very little interaction. Being able to recognise this and adapt your approach accordingly is an important part of the role.
The majority of the role involves practical support around my home. This includes preparing simple, healthy meals from scratch, making drinks and ensuring I stay hydrated, bringing breakfast items when needed, and keeping an eye on food supplies in the fridge and freezer. You will also help with washing up, keeping the kitchen tidy, putting away food deliveries and generally making sure things are organised.
There are also regular household tasks such as laundry, changing bedding, cleaning the bathroom, hoovering, general cleaning and tidying, watering houseplants and helping with everyday life administration. I am looking for someone who is proactive and can notice what needs doing rather than always waiting to be asked.
I also have a cat, so being comfortable around cats is essential. Your responsibilities will include feeding my cat, cleaning the litter tray and occasionally cleaning up after them. And, on the odd occasion, you may even be called upon for the important role of spider catcher!
At times when my health is particularly challenging, I may need some additional personal care support. This can include washing my hair while I remain in bed, assisting with a flannel wash and brushing my hair. You should therefore feel comfortable providing this kind of gentle and respectful support when required.
The working pattern is six days per week, with calls from 10:30am to 12:00pm and again from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. One day each week, for example Thursdays, the morning call is extended to 10:30am–12:30pm, with the usual 4:30pm–5:30pm afternoon call.
Because of my health needs, wearing a face mask throughout your time working with me is a requirement of the role. If you develop cold, flu, COVID-19 or other infectious symptoms, you will need to let me know and an alternative carer will be required to cover your calls until you have recovered.
I am looking for someone who is kind, patient and dependable, with a genuine understanding of the importance of respectful and person-centred support. You should be confident preparing healthy meals, comfortable around animals, self-motivated and able to work independently. Most importantly, you should be flexible and willing to adapt to my changing needs and energy levels.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to someone's day-to-day quality of life by providing practical, thoughtful support in a calm and friendly home environment. If you are someone who takes pride in helping others, is happy to get stuck in and can bring a warm and understanding approach to the role, I would love to hear from you.
