Disability North in Holgate, York, is seeking a cheerful, reliable companion to provide holiday and sickness cover for a client with an acquired brain injury. The role focuses on companionship, community access, organisation, and light errands, with no personal care required.

Hours are minimum 60 per year with some weekly shifts, rate £13.50 per hour, and applicants must have a driving licence and own vehicle. The position is female-only due to an occupational requirement.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.

Monday 10am – 3pm
Friday 10am – 4pm

Hi! I’m Hol – a funny and down to earth 34 year old with an Acquired Brain Injury and Complex Pain. I’m seeking out a cheerful calm and intuitive person to join our little team for holiday and sickness cover. As I’m largely independent physically, this role is about:

• Companionship
• Accessing the community
• Organisation

My hobbies include: Vegan cooking and baking, reading, writing, fashion and sewing, walking, gaming, and chess. I also enjoy periodically working in mental health support and at food festivals on summer weekends.

About the role/weekly responsibilities:

• No personal care
